Terms and cancellation policy
We hold the place just for you, and we plan food, horses and staff around it – which often means turning others away. That is why we have a few simple cancellation rules. They work both ways: if we have to cancel, you always get everything back.
When you cancel
The deadline runs from the moment we receive your cancellation in writing, up to the start of the experience.
Riding camp
Summer camp and winter camp, held in Norwegian.

If you find another participant to take the place yourself, we transfer the booking free of charge – however little time is left. Then nobody loses money.
Horseback rides, sleigh rides and other experiences
Horseback ride, riding lesson, pony rides for children, sleigh ride, family ride, full-moon ride, pack-horse trek and horse and carriage.

Groups, functions and events
Group bookings, the function room, weddings, corporate outings and similar.

We hold the whole place and turn others away once we have accepted a group booking. That is why the deadlines are longer here than for individual experiences.
Administration fee
On a refund we deduct an administration fee of 250 kroner. It covers the payment fee we do not get back when a payment is refunded.
The fee is never more than 10 % of the amount – on pony rides for children at 300 kroner it comes to 30 kroner, not 250.
We never deduct a fee when we are the ones cancelling, or in cases of illness and injury.
Illness and injury
Nobody should lose money for falling ill.
If the participant falls ill or is injured and cannot come, you get the full amount back – however little time is left, and with no fee.
- Riding camp: send us a doctor's note.
- Shorter experiences: just let us know as soon as you know. We take you at your word.
The same applies if the horse set aside for you cannot be used for health reasons that are our responsibility.
When we cancel
Sometimes we have to cancel. That happens when it is not safe or not possible to go ahead – for example in bad weather, too little snow for a sleigh ride, illness among the horses, or too few participants for the camp to run.
Then you always get the full amount back, with no fee – or a new date if you would rather have that. You choose.
If we have to shorten or change the programme along the way, we refund the difference.
We let you know as soon as we know, and at the latest 24 hours before for individual experiences and 14 days before for the riding camp. We do not cover travel, accommodation or other costs you have had in connection with the trip – for that we recommend ordinary travel insurance.
Gift cards
- A gift card can be withdrawn within 14 days of purchase as long as it has not been used. You then get the full amount back with no fee. Send us an email and we will sort it out.
- The gift card is valid for one year from the date of purchase. If it is about to expire and you have not managed to use it, let us know – we are happy to extend it.
- Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash, but they can be used as part payment.
- Lost your gift card? Call or send an email and we will send a new one.
Right of withdrawal
Norwegian law gives you 14 days to withdraw from most things you buy online, but makes an exception for leisure activities booked for a specific date (Right of Withdrawal Act, section 22 (m)). Riding camps, horseback rides, sleigh rides and the like fall under that exception – there the cancellation rules above apply instead.
Gift cards are not tied to a date, and therefore carry the full 14-day right of withdrawal.
How to cancel
Send an email to savalen@hestesenter.no or call us on +47 907 68 137. We count the deadline from when we receive your message, and we always confirm in writing.
Refunds go back to the same card you paid with, normally within 14 days.
Terms of purchase
- The booking is binding once payment has gone through – but always see the cancellation rules above.
- At riding camp, food, accommodation, your own horse, a T-shirt, a cap and use of the wellness pool are included in the price.
- Everyone rides at their own risk. We take safety seriously, everyone is given a helmet and instruction – always follow what the instructors tell you.
- If the participant is under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking and accept the terms.
- Tell us about allergies, medication or other needs when you register, and we will take them into account.
- We ride in most weather – dress for the conditions. We only cancel when it is not safe.
- If you arrive late we do our best, but the ride may be shorter. Unfortunately we cannot give a discount for that.
- We like to take photographs along the way, which may be used on the website and on social media. If you would rather we did not, just say so.
- We handle your information securely and never share it with others. Read more in the privacy policy.
Do you disagree with us?
Get in touch first – almost everything is sorted out with a phone call. If we cannot reach an agreement, you can take the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Council.
